Elite Alpha Trooper looks real

I was reluctant to post on this since it is just speculation, but it appears to me that this is most likely the real deal for a few reasons.

This is what really sold me.  No one would bother to paint the internals or the inside of the butt cap. I do think it is odd that the catch and plunger tube would use colored plastic unlike the other CS elites.  The Diablo III poster on the desk also tells me that he if he had enough time to paint the inside of a blaster he would probably spend it killing dragons or something.

Urban Taggers pointed out that the text on the blaster says "CS-12" not 18 like the normal Alpha Trooper

The badge on the grip of the blaster is the normal logo not the Elite logo which does seem a bit off.

Now on to the comment section for wild speculation!

  1. This is MY DREAM come true IF this is real!!! I LOVE my Alphatrooper. I really dont have means of modding outside the easy mods on Mavricks which are obsolete due to the Elite Strongarm. My new fave blasters are the Elite Stryfe and Retaliator....so far :) "S"

  2. I agree with what your saying but considering it says Cs-12 but not have the elite logo makes me wonder why they would do edit the shell a little but not change the logo.

    1. Perhaps that was the cheapest bit to change.

  3. The "CS-12" part of it seems... I don't know how to put it but it doesn't seem legit.

  4. I love the Alpha-Trooper and stuff as it is my favorite gun but I think that it deserves a little more of an Elite treatment. Give it a few more external changes, create a new name for it or something, don't just repackage the same thing with one or two changes! COME ON HASBRO! YOU CAN DO BETTER!!! Thanks for the heads up though.

  5. This is most likely a pre production model, meaning this is most likely a leaked working prototype and a full release with updates to the shell will coming soon

  6. I'm sure this is not the final model, but I'm 100% sure it's legit.

The molding on the plunger tube is different from any other elites, so it confirms the existence of a new mold.

But since I already own a painted up AT and have plans to transplant elite internals inside... Pass.

  7. As Jack said, its most likely a pre production model. The fact that the internals are so different from what we know in the Alpha Trooper cs-18, is enough to tip the scales into its more than likely to be real.

  8. I am still skeptical for a few reasons.
    1) No other blaster has an orange stock cap like that.
    2) the Nerf logo on the clip well is in orange lettering, again not on anything else.
    3) the internals are all orange, EVERY elite blaster has white pieces in the internals.
    4) the name block is black lettering on white background, every single elite blaster has white lettering on black background.
    5) obviously, no elite logo.
    6) the "CS-12" portion. I have a few AT's and the nameplate is the least embossed one of any N-Strike blaster I own. I could be very easy to make that 18 into a 12. Plus it looks sloppy as hell in the blurry close up.

These may seem trivial, but to me these are little red flags saying, wait a second.

This is a case of I don't want to be right, and I'm hoping this is the prototype so that is why all the above is so noticeable different from the production Elite blasters we've seen. But I will not be surprised if this comes back as fake.

    1. If you have a rampage, check the nerf logo. It's orange.

    2. I do not have a Rampage, did check it though, so you are correct. strike that off my list, but the rest is still sound from what I gathered.

  9. Hey everyone! there are two more reasons it's the real deal. 1. It's DIRECT plunger, and the direct plunger is orange instead of white. 2. This is probably another "Elite" blaster (just a recoloring with a few tweaks. Hope it's real though!

    1. One could make the argument that it's more likely to be real if it's got a WHITE plunger instead of the Orange since both the Retaliator and Rampage have white internals.

  10. I doubt it is real, but like Griever I really hope I'm wrong. Like a lot of N-Strike Series Nerfers, the Alphatrooper is a big favorite. It's the only blaster I bought more than 1 of in case one ever got damaged.

    Why I doubt it:

Unfortunately the Alphatrooper is too similar to the Raider/Rampage (form factor/size, pump-action/slam-fire) so why would Hasbro release a 3rd blaster so similar to others when they are clearly aiming for innovation with their newer "official" 2012/2013 lineup (e.g.: Hail-Fire, Rough Cut, Rayven).

    Why it could be:

But hey, I think if they have room for an Elite Barricade/Stockade and the new Stryfe (near identical blasters to me... save the clip system) and if they listen to their fans it surely isn't impossible!

What I want it to be:

If they are reading this then PLEASE make an Elite Alphatrooper and INCLUDE the defunct Rampage shoulder stock! My Alphatrooper is absolutely boss with my "Barricade special value pack" yellow Rampage-style shoulder stock. Add the 25 dart drum and call it the Betatrooper CS-25 and I'll pre-order 10 of them!!!

    1. If you want a well matching to Elite "raider stock" pick up a Super Soaked Tornado Strike or 2. Just recently found them on clearance GI $10 at Walmart. Looks good on the Rampage as well as the Stryfe.

    2. I like the name the Betatrooper... it's new, but it's close enough to the original to know what it is... Omegatrooper would be good too. It would be nice if they are releasing this, to throw in either a repaint Raider Stock, and the 25 round Drum.

  11. I think its fake be caus of the red plunger housing cap

  12. Did any one notice that the Instruction Label above the Name tag, Isnt painted over and looks to be white backed with black diagrams? Again ether a VERY good paint job or its the real deal.

  13. If this boasts the 75' on the box, a definite buy! I've wanted an AT since it came out, but just never happened to buy one. (So, I'm cheap. So what?). This, however, would be worth it if the range was akin to the new Elite lineup.

  14. maybe the "Elite" Alpha Trooper is like the "Elite" Jolt. CS-12 might be just a 12 dart clip to save production costs.

  15. I believe it to be real as many tomes when prototype/proof of design concepts are made, they are made with less expensive materials that are specialized for low quantity runs. this may be why there are color differences in the plastic. elite color scheme is probably a machine test using blue plastic on the AT outer mold with the elite inner mold, and paint to ensure that the elite color scheme comes out correctly on the blaster's shape. i'd say the orange plastic on the inside is geared towards testing models rather than mass-produced units (which the white plastic is probably good for, but is bad for test unit quantities)

  16. This is by some guy in china seen from the Chinese characters on the notepad. Maybe it's the same guy that gave us preview of the triad and the fire strike before its was actually released .....
