OMW Immortal shipped

The OMW Longshot Immortal kits have been shipped and they have sent me some pics of the final product.

Omws had this to say about their Chrony testing:

"The kit produce fps of 120-140, depending on the kind of darts you use, with the 8 inch faux barrel still intact."

Here is a pic of the final product with the red color and massive priming handles.

Omw also had this to say about their testing of the Immortal kit:

"The only current issue that we have with it is that the elite darts seem to cause the old dart tooth system to stuck when it retracts downward, dragging the rubber tip of the dart with it, thus preventing the dart from firing out. We will be advising people on how to modify their dart tooth to fix this issue but our add on sealed breech should fix this problem completely."

I should be getting a post up on the kit soon.

  3. All that wait and there's still problems with it. That's what happens when your design is based on products from a year ago. Nerf has come out with LOADS of new equipment since November of 2011.

    1. That is not so much of an argument considering the Longshot is still the ONLY blaster that can put out some serious power.
The problem is more that OMW are nowhere near other manufacturers such as Xplorer in terms of actual improving the internals significantly with their own design work. It's ridiculous to think they haven't even added a millimeter of strengthening to the flawed bolt-sled. They're purely relying on the material being stronger, which hasn't worked well in their Longstrike kit for example...

Anyway, not an OMW hater, I've probably spent the most on their stuff out of all manufacturers, but I'm not a fan of their plastic work.

    2. You're dead on from a business P-O-V, Bazookafied. How do you release an upgrade from a product launched in '07 so late in the game? I understand OMW's own business launch date was itself later, but given that many wanted such a product, this was dicey at best. And how much ground has Nerf gained in the time that OMW spent in developing this Immortal Kit (which launched with flaws)? And pSyk's right, what about the other customer service & PR facets? All this said, I'm still interested in seeing the end results from other enthusiasts like yourself. Thanks, as always, for your perspective, Bazookafied.

  4. I guess I'm just surprised that a blog post was made stating that they had these kits shipped out already, but I've not yet received any updates from them about the status for about a year.

I'm just sitting and waiting. haha.

  5. Once OMW start selling 100% sealed breaches They will become the most relevent mod company again. Xplorors doesnt have a perfect seal RM does .. and look at the diference in performance its huge.. RM get Xploror performance with streamlines... exactly what the HVZ fanbase of OMW wants.. OMW should focus only on sealed breaches from now on and make it there stable items.. reinformences and stronger springs are really not needed as much if every thing is air tight.

  7. Reports of issues already surfacing has me feeling a bit more comfortable in my decision to cancel my pre-order just a month ago. I now plan to wait this one out for a while and see how the kit holds up, and if OMW remains a viable company. I'm sceptical on both counts atm.
