Modifications
- Resistors removed
- Electronic locks removed
- Mechanical locks removed
- Voltage increased w/ UltraFire batteries
- Trigger lubricated (mad smooth trigger pull)
- Rough Cut integration through detachable Retaliator barrel
- Firefly stock integrated
- Moving parts relubricated
- Retaliator faux barrel replaced with 3/4" thinwall PVC
- Blue LEDs...everywhere.
- Black vinyl dye base
- Krylon 'Hot Pink' accents
- Krylon 'Ocean Blue' details
- Krylon 'Chrome' dry brushing
- Rustoleum matte clear coat
The Retaliator barrel remains detachable.
The nasty stuff you see in the bottom is Bondo, which helps the integration feel super strong and reduces vibration from the Stryfe.
This 9v battery powers the LEDs for the primary blaster.
I had to modify the Rough Cut trigger to allow full movement due to the battery location.
The silver visible on the faux barrel is aluminum tape. This is to reflect the LED light rays around and try to make it appear as bright as possible from the outside.

And that is probably one of the coolest mashups of blasters I've seen in awhile. Never seen Stryfe integrated with a Firefly like that! I do like the "MasterKey" front barrel you did with the Retaliator barrel and RoughCut, too!! Excellent work, Coop!
ReplyDeleteit`s cool but i think it`s a waste of a firefly :3
ReplyDeleteThe Firefly had missing pieces from the turret making it unusable. The turret can still be used for other applications, but the blaster would not have been operational at any point.
DeleteJesus...
ReplyDeleteNot going to lie, it looks horrible.
ReplyDeleteThe paint scheme is far from nice looking [it is painted well just bad paint scheme]
It is stupidly bulky with loads of unnecessary parts just all over it.
The "integration" is laughable at best and how the rough cut ends where the handle used to be is just too sharp to look good.
I couldn't disagree more, this looks awesome. The colors he chose work well with the stock blase orange parts which helps to not have paint that can wear off on those parts. There might be unnecessary parts but this largely is a cosmetic mod and the extra bits are there for looks more than function. Even with that being the case the extra "unnecessary" parts add a nice big stock with 8 dart holders which works perfect for the RC and a modular rough cut so there is added function. The grip of the rough cut, needs to be chopped so that you can still insert a clip. All in all this is one of the better cosmetic mods I've ever seen.
DeleteAgreed. Very nice. Coop put alot of work into this mod. The color scheme may not be what i would have chosen but i think it works on this blaster. This blaster is very awesome looking. Great job Coop. Keep it up!!! Looking forward to seeing more. "S"
DeleteNot realy my style but agree with Darth it is a sweet looking "dirtytech" blaster. Think you just have a serious case of troll.
DeleteBlack, pink, and blue are used is many things, so the colors DO go together. Because of this, it's obviously an opinion that you don't like the colors, not that they're "bad."
DeleteIt's a cosmetic mod, of course the parts are unnecessary. It was made to look cool, not function at 100%.
The integration is very clean. The cut is actually as close to the magazine as it can comfortably get. Look at the images/video where the magazine is inserted in the blaster - the integration looks great.
Your negative opinion is not founded on any valid points. I get that you don't like pink though - a lot of kids go through that time when they're scared to be called names so they fear what they do not understand. You'll understand when you grow up.
Wow, you all jumped down that person's throat pretty quickly. It was that person's opinion nothing more. They didn't like the blaster and they put up their view of it, what is wrong with that?
DeleteIf you want the modders to improve their skills [not that Coop has many skills as it is] then some criticism is good for them instead of the empty "that is amazing" or "wow so cool" comments, but that is something you will all understand when you grow up.
I do have to agree with the guy you all jumped on, but only on some of the things. The integrations aren't bad, I would have rounded the rough cuts back a bit more if I could have so it looks good with or without a clip in the blaster. The lights are a nice touch, and the paint job is nice and the colors work together wonderfully even with the stock orange but it a paint scheme I know I am not a fan of them but that is just me.
Speaking in support of a flaming post is never a good position to take, especially when you make a point of picking up the torch yourself.
Delete"[not that Coop has many skills as it is]"
I'm sorry, you just destroyed whatever thin veneer of legitimacy this comment had, and presented yourself as a hypocrite in your defense of criticism as a constructive and beneficial act. Do not post this crap.
Now that is cool! What an excellent mash up! But is it's name said like STRI•FLY, or is it said like STRIFF•LEE?
ReplyDeleteI don't see how it'd be anything BUT "Strai-fly". It's a pure mashup of the two names pronunciations. Stryfe and Firefly.
DeleteFlyfe?
DeleteAh... good point
ReplyDeleteRough Cut becomes cool, like a grenade launcher!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I didn't like the color scheme, but watching the video, the colors look good together. The LEDs a a little bright in the pictures, but those, too, look better in video. I like that the orange pieces are still orange, adds a nice contrast to the darkness of the other colors. I think it would be cool to see a set of weapons that all matched the color scheme and looked like a set. Would be cool for a space marine type game, too. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI've Just Gotta know was this the most, enjoyable or one of your favorite mods?
