Nerf for females, Nerf Rebelle line

This was found by Basic Nerf over on EW.com .

It says that Nerf is coming out with a new line that will appeal to girls.  This is a picture of the "Heartbreaker Bow" and might give us a little insight on what to expect from the Blazin' Bow that is to be released this fall.  This, however, is not just a repaint of the "Blazin' Bow" based on the description provided by Hasbro.

In article, Hasbro does say that they aren't just going to be make repaints of existing blasters.  This is going to be an whole new line.

The article also says that these blasters will have the same ranges as the N-Strike Elite blasters, which probably means that no matter what color they are or the target demographic, Nerf fans of both genders will want them.

"Hasbro is hoping to hit a bullseye with its next high-profile launch — a new brand of Nerf toys aimed specifically at girls. The line, called Nerf Rebelle, will feature projectiles that have the same power as the top items in the brand’s Nerf Elite line — but come wrapped in a prettier package and designed to encourage the collaborative play Hasbro has found girls prefer. Aspiring Princess Meridas and Katniss Everdeens can own the first Rebelle product — called the Heartbreaker bow — this fall.
Rebelle immediately brings to mind Lego Friends, a new line of female-driven products that helped to increase Lego’s profits by 36 percent last year — even as critics accused the toy company of promoting gender stereotypes. But John Frascotti, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Hasbro, says that his corporation isn’t worried that Rebelle pigeonholes girls or reinforces the ideology of separate spheres."

  1. Blazin Bow? Unless the Heartbreaker is all were getting I think the good ol' Big Bad Bow is making a reincarnation over to Elite(More Dual springed hopper mods for me) And honestly, unless you have some sort of medieval fantasy, from the fact that almost nobody uses Bow n' Arrow's singled for a good reason, the pull release systems are not as usable as catch systems. They throw your accuracy off and to remedy that, they put in weaker springs.

  5. It's something that's awesome, and a great idea. Guys can repaint it if they dislike it so much, but theyre easy on the eye without. I have exclusive coverage at another conference, you can check the details and new pics here: http://mylastdart.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/hasbro-conference-news-part-1.html

what really gets me, is that we can expect a complete new range of never seen before internals (hence my comment Modders back to square one) - but please don't confuse this with all that is to come. The best stuff is yet to be unveiled :)

Love to find out what you modders want to do with this stuff :)

    1. Nerf has to know how many people will flock to buy reincarnated crossbows. They have enough experience to perfect its design and it will fly off the shelves in droves. I mean, why wouldn't they?

  7. The blasters look interesting enough, but I can't say I'm a fan at all with Hasbro's marketing plan for this... I hope this doesn't turn people away from Hasbro or Nerf.

  8. I wanna check out the cross bow. Maybe turn it into a "Daryl"(Walking Dead) type blaster! Be fun to see. Plus i have a lil girl who LOVES Nerf! I think she will enjoy these blasters. She currently has the Stryfe and Hailfire.
