Tek Recon Hammerhead

Source: Foam From Above

The Hammerhead is the pistol of the Tek Recon line. The overall aesthetics of this blaster are just amazing.  As you can see from this picture, the ammo magazine loads into the handle of the blaster, which I'm sure some of you out there are going to be giddy about.
It's hard to tell how this blaster operates, but if I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that the front part over the barrel is a slide prime.

It's hard to tell from this picture if the tactical rail attachment-looking thing on the bottom has any function.  From what little we can see of the front of it here, you can't see any lens to indicate that it is a tactical light. However, it looks like it might have a switch on the front end.

  1. Wow! I love the new skinnier and higher capacity clips, having the clip go in the handle is awesome!
Can't wait for the tek recon line to be available.

    Thanks for the post!

  2. Ohhhhhh, so the clip loads in from the handle of the gun. The shell looks similar to the Silenced pistol from Halo 3 ODST. This line is getting better and better. I wonder how much ammo it has?

    1. Nothing in the near future because these things are still prototypes. They aren't slated to be released for retail till September. If you look at the post below this one it shows the flags for capture the flag, the smartphone in the cradle with the app running. It will also have ammo refill packs.

    1. I do but what are vortex blasters but glorified skeet launchers & I colected & modded all of those save for the nitron & the lumitron. Don't know if I'll buy these or not but they do look like fun. Besides who in the nerf community past the age of I'll say 30 hasn't as a kid built rubber band guns to shoot thier friends with :)

  8. Judging from the distance from the trigger to the grip, it looks like a long pull. Semi-auto?

    1. That is a very good point. This just might be the case.

  9. I can see someone (or me!) making the Halo 3 ODST Automag with this. Just make sure to have a hidden 4x scope...

  10. Not a semiauto, neither one is. I had them shoot me with the rubber ammo, and it wasn't terrible at all. Maybe a step above a tagger dart from close range out of a pistol splat. (And I've been shot with everything from paintball markers to homemades.)

its basically a rubberband gun... like how school kids put rubberband on rulers.... not many mod options... and you'll definitely lose a lot of ammo...
